Nantwich Foodbank is a life changing service that provides emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. Each year we provide over 13,000 meals to people in financial difficulty
With the growing cost-of-living crisis, people need our help more than ever. We have a new corporate plan that will help us to achieve our mission of making sure no-one goes hungry in Nantwich during this difficult time.
As a registered charity, we are regulated by the charity commission. We are also part of the Trussell Trust, a nationwide network of foodbanks working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. We have two paid employees and around 50 volunteers.
Our trustees carry out an important role – overseeing our work and ensuring we deliver our corporate plan, are accountable, effectively managed and financially viable. We have two committees of the Board, a HR committee and operational committee, and trustees are also encouraged to sit on one committee.
We’re looking for two trustees to join our board, plus a trustee who will also act as our treasurer. We need people who are passionate about helping those in need, with excellent decision-making skills who can work together to lead and oversee the charity and our work.
Everyone is welcome here. We are committed to inclusion and recognise the need to ensure our board reflects the people we serve and has the skills needed to successfully lead the delivery of our corporate plan. To complement and enhance our existing board, we are especially interested in hearing from people who either:
- have a financial background (to become our new treasurer)
- have experience in fundraising and developing partners
- have lived experience of poverty or supporting/ working with people experiencing poverty, or
- are looking for their first position on a Board.
