Foobank bags support from Wulvern

1st October 2015

From 5th October shoppers will be charged 5p for a plastic carrier bag. Most of the donated food we receive comes in to us in these carrier bags, we then reuse the bags to transport food from our store room to our clients homes. We know that this new charge we will have a knock on effect on the amount of bags we are given, so Wulvern kindly stepped in and donated a box full of canvass tote bags for us to use, ensuring we can still get vital food supplies to those in need.

Wulvern’s Marketing and Communications Manager and Foodbank Trustee, Ceris Esplen explains: “Rising costs of food and fuel combined with static income, high unemployment and changes to Welfare Benefits means that many people are struggling to put food on the table and causing more and more to come to Foodbanks for help.  Wulvern is pleased to be able to support the Nantwich Foodbank in this way and help continue the distribution of food to local people in need.”

Many thanks for your support!
