Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.
Help at one off events and supermarket collections
Meet people from the local community and promote the work of the foodbank, receive donated food and promote ways people can get involved or give. We have supermarket collection days at Sainsbury’s in May . If people wish to volunteer an hour to help raise money for our ongoing work, please call 07896652209.
Help to transport food
Help to transport food from our various collection points across the town to our warehouse for sorting. We also need volunteers to transport food from our warehouse to the foodbank centre at Market Street Church on a weekly basis. You will need the use of a car and we do pay travel expenses.
We currently have no vacancies for new volunteers. However, we will need one-off help during the Christmas period. If you are interested in offering help at Christmas, please get in touch nearer the time, we’d love to hear from you!
